I only know of two that will insure a school bus. Progressive and GMAC. Progressive won't insure it if its an RV, and GMAC won't insure it until it is.

It's insured via Progressive as self-done bus motorhome conversion. At the moment, liability only BUT when I've completed it, I'll raise the coverage. If anybody asks, I paid a conversion company to do it ;) I found from a conversation with allstate that done yourself, they won't touch it. Bought as a motorhome, they will. Weird!

Based on a few build/advice video's I have watched, you will want to bring the lip of the bucket up very close to the bottom of the seat... I think that things may escape otherwise.

Good luck. Hopefully Progressive works out. Lots of folks get cancelled after a few weeks. I take it you did the online form?

Things like Dragons, Orcs, Trolls, women with hairy armpits and Ogres?

Seriously... That's all covered - literally - with cat lit.

I did the online form then went to see an agent locally. Told him the story and showed him State Farms letter of the 23rd stating insurance would lapse on the 13th then the letter dated the 26th with the refund (which presumably means the insurance was null at that point) but which I did not receive until yesterday.

The agent said that he had about 30 companies to deal with and could sort out any problems but then though he was a "progressive" agent, he was independent and not tied to Progressive.

Right now I'm working on removing the rotted plywood panels somebody put on the floor. Under the panels is a tarry paper type thing under which is galvanized steel. The paper stuff does not look like a carpenter thing.

The panel removed was rotted by seepage from the door on one side and by a leaky water heater on the other.

By the door will be the toilet. On the other side will be the bathroom. I think under those two areas, I might put plastic planks.

I've replaced the front two passenger windows with aluminum paneling and replaced the remaining plexiglass window with a transplanted window.

Then... I took the bus to the store and bought some donuts.... First run in 3 weeks. It was amazing how far the wheels had sunk into the sandy soil in just 3 weeks!

Yeah I move mne every couple weeks as the sandy cow pasture I keep it in starts to give way under the tires. I suppose I should get some boards to park on.
I need to tag mine still.
Any pics of the paneling you used to replace the windows?

Whoever suggested furring strips was brilliant. I just bought some packs of them and they're cheaper than the 2*2 I bought before and dry nor mushy

Weathers been OK. Close to freezing at night but warm enough to work outside in the day without a sweater.

The bath is almost fixed in place. I still need to put the outlet pipe but its almost done. The mount for the bath is done. Maybe some moving around so the hole misses chassis members.

Hmm... I sealed a lot of roof leaks but it seems a couple remain.

Solution - caulk the suspect areas then go along every roof seam with aluminium tape. That stuff lasts forever and shouldn't crack. Finally, its paintable so I can happily paint over it.

The bath was a waste of time. No way could I make it fit. Aside from being too long, the limited movement I had was insufficient to allow me to move the drain out of the way of a chassis member and the low ceiling means raising it was not possible.
