Advice on bus age!

I have the option of a 1999 or a 2005 blue bird 84 passenger which one is better on terms of self care as in I can take care of it easier or harder. I know newer vehicles tend to have more plastic or fiberglass parts is it true for buses what about electrical or engine mechanics which one is better for a hippie like me to care for myself

Depends on which models they are.

If both are All Americans, they should be virtually identical. The A3 All American went into production in 99 and was basically unchanged through the end of that generation in 2014.

For engines, both are going to be electronic and both are pre-emissions. So again, basically the same.

Depending on what models they are, and what engines and transmissions are in them, one might be more preferable than the other though.

They are both TC2000 both 8.3 Cummins both allison trans. Another side question is the all American better then the TC2000

You might want to check more closely on your info because the newer one either isn't a 2005 or it isn't a TC2000. The last year of production for the TC2000 was 2003.

The All American isn't necessarily "better", it was just built heavier. For the use that most skoolie conversions see, the TC2000 is more than stout enough.

Also, you should check on which transmissions they have. Allison made a lot of different transmission models.

Oh, also, the older bus either isn't a 99, isn't a TC2000, or isn't an 8.3.

The 8.3 was only offered in the TC2000 from 1991 through 1998.
