Now that everything is perfect i started the bus and let it run. At this time the air brakes choose to quit working. Im so confused

On the last test run the hose that goes to the air govenor(?) Touched the manifold and burnt. I replaced it. The hose on the left with the hose clamp on it. Maybe some burnt rubber for sucked in? Click image for larger version

I don't think that hose has anything to do with the compressor on further examination. Back to square one.

Apon further examination i found a leak. I thought it was from the radiator ( i loosened one of the hoses and and then tightened it back) the leak persisted. After looking closer it appears to be coming from one of these 2 hoses. Not much liquid and not leaking anymore.

I went to the local firststudent bus corral at the elementary school. Nice guys. Their eyebrows raised when i told theni rebuilt my dt myself. They we're helpful. The first picture i posted was the compressor. The second set has nothing to do with the compressor. That house burnt and probably buggered up the o rings.

I think there is a one in thousand chance it's the governor. There is oil in the air tank tho. Not much but it's there

If your not building air pressure and there are no air leaks it's likely the governor or compressor, hopefully the governor. Bendix has some good YouTube air brake videos for system operation and troubleshooting.
Its not unusual to have a little oil/water in the wet tank. This tank allows the air to cool and water vapor to condense before the air goes through the filter/dryer.

Ah, a little ray of hope. Not sure how to tell if it's one or the other. I've been all over youtube. As you can tell in all over the place with my diagnostics. I would loveit to be the governor. Maybe I'll try it first. Thanks
