Air ride question...

My Thomas has air bags on all four corners... I was wondering if these bags compensate for an uneven load? I mean if I were to load all the weight (not overloaded) down the length of the drivers side of the bus would it lean or do the bags make up for it? Just curious to what you guys think...

Re: Air ride question...

How many ride height valves do you have? Just one on each axle means that it only compensates front to back. A ride height valve at each corner or sometimes two in the back and only one in front means that it should compensate side to side.

Re: Air ride question...

My mechanic said that there are 2 bags on each corner in the front & singles on each corner in the rear but not sure how many valves there are... Does that help?

Re: Air ride question...

you have to crawl onder the bus and look for valves follow the airlines from the bags backwards towards the air source, the valves will have mechnical linkages running between the valve and the axle/suspension, the front may also be hooked into a solinoid valve that dumps the front bags to let the bus kneel for loading when the doors are open.
