I come from a family of truck drivers on my step moms side and just from driving with her growing up I know the rules around big vehicles as well as motorcycles. I cringe at the thought of driving through the carolinas...I already hate it in an SUV!

Not everyone can/will do this but they oughta try, IMO

Hey, it looks like they have 3 for sale. And one shows the hobbs meter. 12070 hours. Ouch. That's a lot of hours.

The only RE3000 I've seen with a DT530 was one in Cleveland Ohio. It had been posted on Craigslist by a private school for $1000. Yes, $1000. 99k miles and only about 3500 (I think) hours on the meter. The guy that bought it put it on eBay and I was the losing bid at $5000.
I asked and the guy said the meter is currently at 10,671

Just to clarify EastCoast, "BGA Bus's did not send me down any road with dangerous tires" Not sure where you are getting your information so stop generalizing and spouting specifics when it comes to MY BUS.

Roadschooldreamer143....

You're dealing with either Joe or Tony, both honest guys. Don't afraid to ask anything or make an offer.

Use my name if it helps

I thinlk he directed it at me and my bus.. however several professional truckers / mechanics.. people including a DOT officer .."might want to think about tires soon" was the general consensus.. esp when looked up my tires are 16 ply and I have liught cracking beginning on the top layer....

yes im getting new tires.. no they werent ready to explode right away...or "dangerous"...

so no he didnt direct it at your bus..

I'm just going by what I saw. If you look at my previous post on page 7 in this thread his comment was in reference to my quote. To me it appeared he was taking to me. No harm , no foul. All is good

In kind of waiting to hear back from one of the guys on here who happens to be driving through and offered to stop by and take a look at her for me. I'm not gonna lie, low balling someone makes me nervous. I hate feeling like I'm being rude but I also don't wanna miss out on a better deal. I feel like offering $6k for it would be good. Yeah?

Just remember it's like buying a car and dealing is part of the process because it's worth zero to them if they don't move it. He has four of them sitting there so I would offer him what you are reasonably willing to pay for it.

I made the offer that $7800 is my top including all fees and taxes. So he is going to talk with boss and get back to me. If he says yes we are only waiting on one more duck to line up and it's a go!!

How is the conversion going? I live up the road in Harlem and in the process of trying to find the right bus for our conversion. Looks like your bus should be great for converting. I hope it goes well for you.
