Am I breaking the covenant?
Thinking of buying a decent camper to tear apart to stuff into my shortie. Found a nice 1999 Rockwood with some water damage. It will be a donor for all the tanks, propane fridge/freezer, bathroom items, microwave and a bunch of other things like roof top air and awning. Seems to be the best deal I can find for all those parts. under $2k and Ill still have a shell for the kids to play with in the end.

Covenant? What covenant???
I only wish I had a donor camper for everything I need...
Everything you mentioned plus toilet, electrical control panel, microwave, and a lot more not mentioned!

Just making fun, seems like a guy isnt a true Skoolie master if he just rips apart a camper and stuffs it into my yellow can . Seems like a great idea to me. For simply the cost of the fridge and awning I get the rest for free. Heading to go get it tomorrow.

I'm gutting an old moterhome for lots of parts. Seems legit to me since I'm on a very limited budget.

Is that a full length air actuated arm for the door?
Mine's smaller and only a 3 inch throw!
Story of my life

Same here. I think my landlord, though, would have a conniption if he saw a camper being gutted at our place

A word of caution if the RV is an older model... we got a bunch of stuff from an old camper and couldn't use any of it. stuff was rusted through (water heater and furnace) and anything plastic cracked. (Black tank, toilet) Avoid any used plastic stuff if possible unless it was fairly new.

Thank you, it's a 1999. We have a 78 holiday rambler 5th wheel that was nice a few years ago but has since been taken over by critters. I originally was going to gut that for parts but as you say lots of the 40 year old plastic is not as flexible as it as when new.

Yeah, my landlord would definitely go nuclear if I gutted my wife on the premises.

haha, after 40 years my ex-wife didn't hold up well either.
i started with a 90's donor trailer, but nothing ever got transferred over. i decided against using propane, in favor of diesel or electric applicances. that decision made everything useless on the camper. the other parts were to "stick and staple" to make it into the bus. to make it worthwhile you have to use a few of those parts.
