Re: Am I welcome here?

how about here http://www.man-engines.com/en/en.jsp

There is lots of info available in German, if you need something specific let me know and I'll look around. Your model / yr / engine etc. would help to get specific info.
I would buy a MAN if i could.

Re: Am I welcome here?

Welcome aboard! I dream of someday owning a transit bus conversion and I hope I will still be welcome here the day that happens so I'm going to do the best I can to set precedent by welcoming people with them now.

I know you're worried about your German engineered diesel. If it makes you feel better my Ford engine came from Brazil and there is a whole HECK of a lot of Spanish hiding on it. I thought it was odd since they speak Portuguese in Brazil, but those who are much more bilingual than me have said it is Spanish. While my engine is probably a little more common here in the states I have no problems getting parts. Heck, a lot of our buses use German parts anyway. Bosch pumps anybody?

Knowing when to say "no" is one of the best things going for you when searching for your bus. It helps keep that dream machine from becoming a nightmare!

Re: Am I welcome here?

Passing on something that didn't feel right was one of the best decisions you could have made. It's a lot easier to turn a good foundation into what you want than to fix a could foundation into something workable and then go from there.

Hang around here and hang in there! The right bus will come in good time and you will be happier for the waiting.

Re: Am I welcome here?

I got to tell you I have only been a member since july 14th,
Everyone And I mean everybody has been great to me
I'm completely removing my coachwork and building my own out of fiberglass, to suite my needs.
It going to look more like a 50s class a airstreamed of course than a skoolie
nobody have given me any grief about it yet doubt if they will

I am a bodyman build scca race cars and hot rods and restos so to me its not as donting of job as it seems
besides I have full bolt of fiberglass already that I will never get through in my lifetime even after this prodject

My guess is that it will weigh in about 1/2 of what the steel body does. hopefully more fuel efficient

I am working on a 32 ford delivery sedan now it should give me enough operating cash to do the majority of this project.
although my wife wants me to buy another truck with it. this seems alot more fun to me though.

I a month or two I am planning on starting construction,
I will start posting pictures then

dale

oh buy the way if I can help you in any way I would be happy to
