Anyone ever use polythylene for flooring?

I have a friend who used this to replace the floorboards in his boat, I'm wondering if anyone has used something similar to replace the plywood flooring. Seems like a logical solution to avoid rot, especially for those of us who dont have sheetmetal under the plywood of our floors.

I was looking to do this in JUST the front of my bus and a sheet of King Starboard (from a local supplier) costs $330 a 4x8 sheet. I quickly changed my mind and made other plans, haha.

I wanted to do this for interior headliner, in .125" material. When the best price I could get was about $100/sheet, when purchasing in bulk, direct from a manufacturer, I decided to go different route.

Well damn, I thought I'd found a viable solution to this dilemma. I may still do it, just seems like a much better option than plywood.

This is the stuff to use. GOOD plywood is fine. The cheapo stuff at Lowes, not so much.

And there is always marine plywood. I'll be using 1/2" marine all around my shorty.
