Would love to see both of your builds sometime. I've been working slowly on mine since 2014. I've gotten a long way, but also not near finished and never started a build thread for mine yet.

I'm confused, are the before/after pics reversed? Or was it already pre-framed by yourself or someone else and then you gutted it and changed the windows etc?

Awesome thanks for the clarification! how much did the under storage cost to implement? It's something I want to add on, but I don't want to spend too much.

Have them on both sides and more to go in the back. Price Depends on how handy you are I guess. I'll take pics but just made out on angle iron. And the tin from the inside roof

Cool looking bus! I am also in Manitoba, in the Tyndall area.

Did your bus pass a safety since the roof raise? I have been asking around and no one has really been sure if it was legal or not.

Its been a long time since I’ve been active here and another MB Skoolie was just what I needed.......

Hey, I’m from Manitoba and about to buy my first bus. I was curious if there is somewhere I can find the rules and regulations. Do I need a different license, what do I need to do to register it? Any other helpful info would be greatly appreciated! Total newb here, but proudly finally so much closer to living my dream

Good day,
I'm from Manitoba as well and I cant find no info if I should raise the roof before or after registration.
Was wondering if you found anything out. Also, ifou registered your bus, did you have to paint it first and add a fridge and stove and bed? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin K.

Manitoba Skoolie Information

Good day.

Would like to post the requirements for converting a school bus to an RV in Manitoba, Canada.

I spoke with Manitoba Public Insurance as well as a vehicle safety officer for the province.

In order to register a bus into an RV, one needs to:

1. Take all school bus signage off/remove arms and stop signs.
2. Remove all seats.
3. Paint front and back of bus (different color from yellow).
4. Add a living quarters to the bus (one appliance, bed, stove, etc. Note: Must be permanently mounted.)
5. Need a safety inspection.
6. Bill of sale.

NOTE: You will need a seat belt for the number of occupants the bus can sleep.
NOTE: Roof raise can be done before registration.

There are currently no laws prohibiting a roof raise on a school bus in Manitoba. You just cant succeed the max height of 4.15 meters. Otherwise you would need a permit.

Take care.

Hello other Manitobans,
Just bought my bus this week (2003 International T444e with a bluebird body), can’t wait to get started!
