If the people are cool, they'll usually mail you the title, and you can get your stuff done at the tag office locally. Sometimes its necessary to take the title and BOS to the local office where the bus is and get a temp tag or transit tag.
Just call whoever is selling the bus and ask them. The lady I dealt with in KY wasn't too informed, but she did her best and we got the bus home more or less legally and with no problems.
Getting an insurance policy is the most important part. Current insurance and a BOS/title are all that are really needed in many states. That's what I did. KY is really messed up when it comes to getting a temp tag. they only issue them in one office and its in Frankfort.
if i get one Ill reg and insure with my Ohio address.. as it was super easy to do.. my guess is because progressive is based in ohio they first leasrned how to insure anything in ohio so it makes them a good choice..
these busses are under 26K too and in ohio if you simply yank a few seats you can qualify for EASY title / reg.. some states go on design capacity.. ohio goes on actual capacity.. most of everything in ohio is done in columbus but you can get some things done in the other cities title-wise.. it just takes longer..
then of course there is the "what am i doing? getting another bus when i havent even finished buoldiong the current one..?"..
About to head down there now, I will scan my notes when I get home at ~11pm cst but I'll check the forums during the day. Online pros mails the titles, I got mine in lke 3 days but they are pretty local to me. If needed I can drive a bus to my place and you can pick it up from here. I will also make gumbo or jambalaya or something tasty.
