Australia Is On Fire

I've been following it because my daughter lives in Adelaide. Checking on it today I saw this picture. Gives a good indication of how hot that fire was. The silver rivers flowing away from the car are it's aluminum wheels. Hot enough to completely liquidize them and flow away. I had a fire here at the house last year and the hottest part of the fire was the pallet of 10 solar panels. Leaning against it was my hand cart. The aluminum wheels did the same as in this pic.

I heard that 500 million animals have been killed in the fire. That can't be true. Can it?

She's in Adelaide, south east coast. They say every major city has big fires surrounding them.

A google search that quotes vox.com says an "estimated 1 billion animals found dead", the country is burning like never before. There's been some 2 dozen people arrested for various kinds of arson that led to the wildfires directly or indirectly.

I think the 2 dozen arrested were directly related to arson, with over 150 arrests for anything from throwing butt on the ground to other non associated fire related crimes. Sad that many of the animals killed will now be extinct.

My daughter is sewing up pouch linings for the abandoned Joeys who mothers were killed.
