Basement doors

Howdy All, I'm preparing to construct basement storage compartments on my schoolie and trying to decide on door design, hinge from top, side, bottom, ?. I have always thought the doors on a Greyhound that come kinda out & up to be close to side of bus and directly above the open compartment looked pretty good but I have never seen them close. I haven't had any luck trying to get a close up look on the net either. Does any one know where I might see that type design good enough I might fab my own version? Thanks in advance for any leads I get

Yes that is one way, I was kinda hoping for a video or some mechanical drawings
