BB FE vs BB RE

I've noticed that the BB American FE comes with a max of 90 students while the RE comes with a max of 84 or so. Is the FE bus actually longer. or does the RE eat up a set of seats?

the RE loses some rear seating because of the engine hump.

THat's exactly it.

And if you're looking at the TC2000, you'll find that the FE all have the 5.9 cummins and for practical purposes all have the AT545. RE has the option for 8.3 and MT643.

The FE 's back door allows for an easy garage area. The RE won't have that but likely has a door on the side. The RE will be much less noisy when driving however the cooling system has a much harder job. I went with a FE but there are great arguments for both.

The FE does have a bit more usable space vs an RE.

It will also have more heat and more noise.

The RE offers easier access to the engine for service.

I have found the heat to be a non-issue in my TC2000, certainly much less than my Vista. Maybe it's just less of a problem with the 5.9? The noise difference is obvious.

Is it possible to rotate an 8.3 30 degrees to have a lower engine compartment ceiling?

But the driveshaft on the FE eats up a lot of under floor storage.

No. The builder would have done that if it were feasible. I mean, its not like they WANT to build that giant dog house next to the driver.
