That is nothing more than a fear of liability.

This is why we have packs made to a smaller weight rating, with Fewer, thicker leafs.

I also can't helpbut notice that all of the newer buses here come with far fewer, but thicker leafs right from the factory.

A few of us here need to go do some leaning on Pirate 4x4. Trouble is, they would get ripped apart over there.

Less, thicker leafs make for a rougher ride than more thinner leafs.

I heard basically the same thing from Eaton Detroit which is why I chose to replace the whole spring pack with new ones properly rated for a softer ride. Weren't all that expensive especially given the "peace of mind" factor.

Interesting discussion! I'm hoping to accomplish the same thing: a softer rear suspension.

I took part in a thread that started discussing the same thing.. It didn't really get resolved, but I'll post it anyhow:

I was hoping to simply drop a leaf and see how it rides, but perhaps I'll have a chat with some local suspension experts..
