Black tank question???

Has anyone had any luck moving the toilet flange input on a tank??? If so, what did you use to seal it and how did it work out???

I've got a tank that will fit perfectly under the bus but need to move where the toilet input is...

Re: Black tank question???

Mine was an ABS tank, just a square plastic box with an outlet port, had to cut your own holes.
Naturally I punched a hole in the wrong place for the shower drain
Epoxy painted a piece of 1/2" plywood, RTV'd around the 'bad' hole, laid the plywood over it and screwed it down with a drywall screw in each corner, silicone caulked around the edge of the plywood and was a little more careful with the new hole ...
No leaks in 6 years.

If yours is an ABS tank, seems like the same thing, only a bigger hole.

Re: Black tank question???

If it's out of an old RV, chances are it's Poly. PITA to patch. I've heard they do make a glue for it. New just out this year or last year. Haven't seen any yet. How much do you need to move the toilet? If just a little, you might get away with using a 45 degree pipe. Otherwise, buy a new tank. Get ABS so that you can patch it!
