Bluebird T2000 Accordion Door Question(s)

First: Thank you SO much to all the wonderfully helpful veteran skoolies here. Your patience and willingness to share your knowledge and expertise is priceless.

My question(s): How in the heck do you get into a 1994 Bluebird T2000 with an accordion door (air opener)? I just pushed it open when I was looking at it but that seems rather crude.
Is it possible to lock said door? Or do I need to plan on replacing it with something else?

Thanks! I don't even know what questions to ask (and the proper terms) so I do appreciate your patience.

Lisa

Here's a pic of the door in question:

I would suggest either:

a. A lock and hasp on the rear of the door
b. A keyed drop bolt

That's generally correct. There should be a manual release above the door to bypass the air line.

Yeah, but something like this. Remember, a lock only keeps honest people honest. A determined thief will find a way in.

Right on.
That pot metal one won't require as much determination though!

I have the same bus and the lock pictured is the one I used... seems to work well. I can turn off the air valve at the top of the door and lock it from the outside. I had to drill the door out to install it.

Is there not a lock at the bottom of the door?

Looks great! But my door hinges in the middle and closes from the front toward the back of the door opening.

Nope. There isn't a lock on it anywhere. Hence my problem.

No. But I am contemplating how to install one there. Door opens in..."single" hinge door - doesn't open in the middle.

It might also fit on the leading edge of the door against the door frame

You'll have to drill some holes in order to install the lock.

Like this:

If this is the case, then what DRBW posted IS one solution. What Opus posted is another solution. But, Opus' solution would involve gymnastics when locking the door from the inside for the night.
