Re: Bought my first Skoolie, where to begin?

You can tow a trailer easy with that bus. I have towed a car trailer back and forth across the usa with a 1975 or so one of those with a 4spd and 2spd rear axle.. just make sure that the hitch is made to the frame instead of the rear bumper as its lighter material than one thinks... i had to stop and reinforce mine in cheyenne one time...

It looks like it has it all! Do a through safety check and use that puppy up! Keep the pics flowing--where you went, what worked, what didn't. Also share your upgrades if it needs any--welcome aboard!

Although I have nothing really constructive to add here... I must say that is an awesome bus!

Heading for the mountains eh? Speaking as someone who had my brakes go out on my skoolie (which is 20 years newer than yours) due to rusted brake lines, I would say: check the brakes! If the lines have any amount of caked rust, replace them!

I second that, had a break line blow on our trip also. Not fun
