Bui!ding a super toilet!

It's a double hole toilet. The square hole is access to a grit bucket. The round hole leads to Hershey's Pot of Gold.

It's probably strong enough to support an elephant and I have to say that 5" 5\16 lag screws are bloody expensive!

It's a rectangular cat lit container and the grit will initially be... Cat lit. After I have a free grit bucket then I might try compost and all sorts of other goodies.

So pee in the right one and #2 in left?

If your separating liquid and solid(I assume)

1) its a small hole to aim for; so making a mess is very possible????

2) ladies and/or women may not like sitting on wood and peeing in a square hole?

What am I missing?

I know urine makes up most of the "lingering"smell....why such a small hole?



I like super toilets...using one now

Neighbor had a two seater, and over in the sandbox we had 3 and4 seaters, worked great, we could link our game boys together and do street fighter

It's a humanure toilet: The Humanure Handbook - Build your own humanure toilet!

One hole for doing your business, and the other to store/scoop out sawdust or whatever to cover your business.

Some people use cat litter, but if you use sawdust and/or peat moss, you can chuck the waste in a compost bin for your garden.

And a have an interesting problem. I have to do something different with the lid!
Seems the door fittings protrude 3 inches into the lift!

I decided what I'll do is cut the lid in half along the length of the midway support beam. I'll also cut a notch in the lid by the door so I can open it with the door open.

Meanwhile, I bolted down the toilet seat and added a grit bucket cover

After this pic, I found a use for my 72 inch by 11 inch offcut of hardboard. A section was nailed to the front of the toilet.

Mines built of 2x4, exterior 7 ply, lag screws then hinges and whatever screws i had lying around. Tools needed - circular saw, hole saw, hand saw, power drill
