Bus measurements

I've gone to the local school bus lot and talked to the supervisor. He's given me permission to measure the buses.

I'll try to get more measurements on here as I can, the only one I have so far is a 2012 Thomas Saf-T-Liner C2.

GVWR=31,000lbs
It has 10 windows, 9 of them are 27 inches long and 1 is 36 inches long. There are 3 inches of space between each window an 15 inches of space between the last window and the rear of the bus. That's roughly 28 feet from the back of the drivers seat to the back of the bus.

The roof is 77.5 inches high in the center and 76.5 inches high on the sides.

From side to side it's 90 inches wide.

Is there any other measurements someone might need before I measure more buses?

I'm from NC, 30 minutes outside the Thomas built factory. So, the majority of our school buses are Thomas. We do have a handful of International/Cat and 1 or 2 bluebird, they'll be difficult to find, but once I do I'll get the Mahendra from them.

Wow, just 1 inch difference between the highest point and the sides? Wish mine was like that.

Yeah, the C2s have the "true flat" roof. They're built on the freightliner M2 platform and have more of a semi truck feel and look to them.

There also seems to be a taper to the body rather than vertical sides like most buses. I've never been able to inspect one up close, any idea if the taper starts at the base of the windows or at the floor or some such?

I'm check into that next time I go out to the lot. I actually meant to measure for, midway, and roof width and forgot.

Edit:

I'd also like to add that I'm not the greatest with a tape measure and it's just me measuring these, so the measurements are approximate. My half inch might really be a 3/4 or a 1/4 inch. But everything should be with in an inch plus or minus.

The ribs on my shorty are actually curved outward about mid-point up from the floor. Which, I might add, while adding a small measure of strength, complicates the crap out of everything.
