Buses and Fire Safety

So I started thinking about issues I see with RE buses, and one of those is fire. Not that I am discriminating against FE's but for RE's it's harder to tell if you actually do have a fire while driving. I pray NONE OF US has to ever deal with that!!!

However, I was looking at ideas to hook up a larger CO2 tank to a suppression system in my engine compartment when I stumbled upon this.....

HOME

I am going to order a dual nozzle kit from the site, but there are tons of tips and how to's related to fire safety in RV/Bus.

Take a few minutes to look through the site. It could save you or someone you care about in the long run.

That's a good idea. I remember after I bought my bus, I saw my exact type of bus (99 Thomas MVP ER) on fire on the side of the beltway. Would hate for that to happen to anyone, especially since insurance is dicey on these and usually liability only.

I'm pretty sure some of those campers were trying to deep fry turkeys.

Co2 is pretty cheap. It's the steel cylinders that are expensive. It's always a good call to be prepared for all possibilities. If you're standing on the side of the road watching your bus burn those co2 extinguishers seem like a pretty good deal.

I found a website that auctions burnt and crashed campers and fifth wheels. Didn't save the address, but that might be good parts for someone. Searchable.
