Can I removed the lower inside walls?

Do these come off or are they necessary to keep?

I was planning on pulling mine as well and replacing with beadboard and ply over insulation. As long as you don't cut out the chair rail, you should be fine, since that's what mates the floor with the body.

I wanted to take out the chair rail... thinking I couldn't. How do you suppose I cover it up? Build over top of it?

Build around it with cabinets and as a mounting point for both cabinets, bulkheads and use it as part of your cable and plumbing chase. But it has to remain in place, since its a major structural component of the bus.
