Re: Captains Chair (drivers seat)

id imagine you need to do some welding of bars etc to get it to mount right. I just got conversion van seats out of an old chevy van. has their own belts with stands.

Re: Captains Chair (drivers seat)

The captains chairs that I am looking at do not come with seat belts, it has the reciever to clip into but no belts.......they came out of a 1996 Dodge Caravan, they are the type that are used in the secon row seating. I would think that you could fab something up that would work,,,,, just wondering if any one else has insight to doing that.

thanks

Re: Captains Chair (drivers seat)

i have extra seats out of several caravans, and have saved them for swaps, they will also fit in the narrow street rods..
easy to fabricate mounts for seat belts, or even the seat itself.

Re: Captains Chair (drivers seat)

If people need seat belts let me know. I have a few mid 70s gms sedans and station wagons that I take the belts out of and usually throw them away. Ill let you have them (if I am stripping a car) if you pay for the shipping. We can use the flat rate shipping boxes from the USPS that is not that much money. I would rather them go to use than the land fill

I was able to get the arms off of mine by pushing them in at the pivot point while in the "up" position, then rotating them backwards about a quarter turn. Then you can pull them straight out from the seat back. Wiggle them as you're doing this and you might feel the point at which things start to happen.

You'll have to push them in pretty hard, but they are keyed to come out in this manner (at least mine are). Try this before you rip open the fabric back of the chair.
