carburetor help...

...does anyone know if i need to be getting a carb with the Ford kickdown for the transmission or not. I have a '83 Ford Bluebird with a 370 and 4 sp Allison tranny(auto). I have a 429 sittin waitin on me to get a carb for it. Do I have to have the kickdown or ???

Anyone with knowledge about this please help.

I have an 83 chevy with the auto 4 speed and it uses a vacuum modulator. Which is broken right now i think, it shifts really hard.

carburetor purchased...

...well, I never really got any sort of answers from the boards that I posted to so I took it upon myself to do some research. Basically, just hopped into the engine compartment and started poking around. The only linkage going to the carb is for the throttle. No linkage of any kind could be found going from anywhere near the carb to the tranny so I went ahead and ordered a holley 1850-2.

So now all I need to do is take of the front end of the bus and build a tarped frame enclose big enough to work under while doing the swap.
