cat 3116 a good idea
So I really like everything about this bus, but have heard not such good things about the CAT 3116 engine. I would like honest advice from anyone who has had any experience with this engine at all. I won't pay more than 3k for the bus but that doesn't mean I want a crap engine. Thanks in advance for any and all input!
P.S. we will be living in it full time.

Anyone with experience please. Googleing engine problems is hardly hands on experience or unbiased but thank you.

If it's around 40 degrees f out(or colder), you will need to plug in the block heater to get it to start reliably.
I've had a couple in work trucks, OK power just cold blooded.

Soo...how's your way working out? Not too good, huh? Most skoolie owner aren't rich or stupid. That's why you won't get a whole lotta feedback because there aren't that many here. Much luck in your search for info.

Re: cat 3116 a good idea
Actually, Googling is more productive than asking here. I know of one guy that has a 3116, and I think it was on this forum. Search and find him. Last I knew he we doing an inframe on the engine.
Google will give you all the experiences of RV owners and medium size truck businesses, not only random skoolie owners....some who can't even figure out how to operate air brakes.
