Cheaper than college!!

So learned a wonderful lesson on vinyl laminate floor the 5 mm thick good stuff... We laid it in our skoolie over the winter and now that we are getting heat the floor is buckling and heaving up.. per manufacturer it is unable to take any temp change as in cold in the winter or sun from the windows lol so.that was kind of a 800 dollar mistake!! Anyone have any input on this beyond starting a new floor??? My oldest son said rugs lol!!

Holy crud! That's horrible.

Can I ask, was it tiles or the big roll out kind?

People were really pushing that stuff because of it's waterproof nature. I installed a 4 x 4 entry way in a house with it, it just felt like cheap vinyl. I was pretty sure I didn't want it in my bus, I'd take my chances with a wood laminate. The night I spent in OKC. to pick up my bus, the hotel room had that vinyl plank flooring and one night was enough to convince me I don't want that in my bus.

Ditto on rugs. I would recommend a tasteful Persian rug in particular.

When you lay that stuff down leave 1/4- 1/2" gap at the walls and cover with quarter round give it room to expand

That's a bummer abut your floor.
I used two types of vinyl laminate for my floors- the front entry way is the click/lock vinyl planks - and the rest of the bus is the peel and stick vinyl laminate planks - both from Home Depot. I used the cheapest flooring they had.
I installed the floor in July in Florida - and now I am out in Montana - the bus has seen some cold (not much below 20 degrees) - and some serious heat (above 90) and humidity.
I have not seen any warp or bowing. The floor has held up strong.

I did put a rain/ice weather barrier down - under the plywood - I am not sure if that helped - but I have been happy with he result so far.

Maybe I missed something, but if your floor is click style floating laminate, why can't you just take it up and re-lay it?

... unless you laid it first, then built on top of it.

It's not snap together, it is vinyl peel and stick planks.
