I do not think this would work, the Crown has a "pancake style" engine (think slant 6 chrysler) the engine and transmission actually sit under the bus at an angle (almost on their side) i would think aside from the nightmare of trying to get mounts made you would run the sump dry of oil and seize the motor up in about 5min. The 6-71 that is in that bus is a great motor and ive heard of them getting 12+ mpg, cant ask for much more than that. Plus that 2 stroke sounds mean lol

You need to talk to Frank in Idaho. He is a Crown expert and he has done lots of repowering. Is this Crown a rear engine or mid? Frank is a super guy he helped me out when I broke down in Twin Falls.

Let me know what you plan to do with that 10 speed! I'd love to have a 10 speed manual in my skoolie.

I would contact DDC and see if they had any horizontal mount applications for the Series 60 engine. If they do, then you would be able to do the swap, so long as you purchased the required components to allow for the engine to receive proper cooling and lubrication. For the cost, I'd stay with the old screaming meanie.
