Dashboard Missing!

I just visited the compound with buses and saw a school bus today.

It was a very nostalgic experience! I loved it. The engine was a little rusty/missing the belt, they didn't allow us to turn it on or anything about the missing dashboard. All the gauges and stuff are gone. The speedometer, the RPM gauge, everything..

are there specific parts of the dash/gauges that I would need in coordination with the model of the bus or can I use different kinds of gauges?

I would run away from that bus as fast as I could. Rusty engine with missing belts and no gauges that they wouldn't or couldn't start sounds like it could be a huge pain the the @ss to troubleshoot unless you're a mechanic or have a good friend that will help you out... That said you could make aftermarket gauges work but it would be quite the project unless you're pretty mechanically inclined. just my .02

I really appreciate your two cents!

I'm now looking at another bus on auction near me, from the school district, from the year 2000. I'm assuming it's old enough for the school district to cycle in new ones.. so maybe I'll get lucky. On the page, it says "FRONT A/C BLOWER, WIPER ARM, FLOOR ROTTEN, CLUSTER/DASH". Doesn't say it's broken or damaged.. just pinpoints certain things, I suppose. It only has around 50k miles on it.

No going back now. I bid on it and it looks like I'm going to win.

Wish me luck with this bus..

worst comes to worst, I'll salvage some parts for my future bus endeavors and then try and sell/scrap this bus. We'll see what happens.
