Re: deck's?

check out this link viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1262&hilit=+rack

It's a deck I made for my bus, it's as wide as the bus and about 5 feet long. It's very strong and works well.. However it's very heavy (at least 300lbs) and a huge pain in the ass to put on and take off the bus... I need at least 3 people to do it. It's also very high off the ground which makes it hard to load anything on it. I do have a hill in my yard that I can back up to and load things like motorcycles on it.

I think you're time and money are better spent getting a trailer hitch.. at least for my needs.

Re: deck's?

What the deck will be used for is key. If its for storage make it strong with tie downs or cleats. If its for chill'n make it user friendly and comfy.(saw one that was upholstered)and I'm not sure if thats spelled right. If its for drink'n make some safe handrails that maybe fold down or stow away. But, whatever you do make sure you don't forget you added it before the bridges. Saw that one blocking I-15 and ending someones happy trip. I'm working on some different designs for mine because it has to hold a rocking bluegrass band through the parade. I'm leaning towards welded steel with cedar decking complemented with slide in rail posts of alluminum. I already scored the alluminum stock for free so...yeah!
