Dinette/bed question

I see some folks here that design their dinette table to drop down to form a bed also. Is there a certain "RV" table support pole that will move up and down for this type of application?

Thanks
Dan

Re: Dinette/bed question

Most seem to fold the table support against the table (which is then tucked under the bed), remove the table altogether, or have it fold down against the wall. An RV table will work, but it wouldn't be too hard to build your own.

Pedestals aren't hard to find, but the brackets that hold the table to the wall is another matter. There is a two piece L-bracket that thats really nice and works with the fold-down bars, but I cant find them now. But you should be able to find the Channel type, most places have it.

Re: Dinette/bed question

The table/bed center in our camper uses the standard church/FD/VFW hall-type folding legs, and does not attach to the wall. There is a loop of velcro in the middle to hold them up when folded.

A pedestal would probably be less obtrusive at the moment of sliding into the "booth" for dinner, but they are usually located near the middle of the table, as opposed to legs at the ends, and so might bump knees during the meal.

http://www.jcwhitney.com/pedestal-table ... 02634.jcwx $28.99 sounds better to me than $322 (to get the lower price, you would need to join the President's Club)

We had a pedestal table in our pop-up. What I liked about it was that one end of the table was "pinned" to the bed frame with door hinge with a removable hinge pin.
