Do you have to mix paint thinner to roll on oile paint?

Hi, I'm not planning on spraying. My question is, if I plan on using oil based paint for metal and rolling, do I have to still thin it out with paint thinner?

test panels. Try a few spots. I'd thin it a small amount. and if you are using rustoleum, better read that can- use acetone. Too thin and paint will fly/spatter w roller.

I suggest hardener, as well. I really suggest spraying- am spraying mine today.

Can't spray-how do you use hardner

I plan on using Valaspar Metal paint in gloss gray. How do you use hardner? Do you mix it in with the paint or do you paint it on after the paint has dried. I wish I could spray but I live in the suburbs and don't want to risk the spray getting onto our neighbor's houses.

Valspar makes a hardener- add a small amount to get your paint dry quicker, less bugs/leaves sticking.

If you get paint on the neighbors house, you must be painting in a hurricane. Spray is very neat (HF HVLP). I don't wear gloves and am wearing shorts.

I am spraying 3 colors and using 2" masking tape-- that's how tight is, it's not overspraying even 2" tape.

It is looking stunning. Goes on like glass. %^#$#ing bugs, though.

I blended my own colors from rustoleum, white base.
