Re: Dog Nose vs. front engine vs. rear engine?
Right after I bought my first bus, the engine went south in Childress, Texas. My wife and I changed the engine literally on the side of the road the next weekend. I carried the engine hoist around for years strapped up between the frame rails in back, including a trip from Louisiana to Alaska and back. But the reason the engine swap was so easy was the dognose front end. The whole hood comes off in about 10 minutes and allows you to work all around the engine.
I vote dognose.
