Do's & Don't

Well me and my family are new to this. My Dad converted 2 or 3 buses when I was younger, but laws have changed.. What are the laws about the stop sign on the side the bus, it being yellow, having to have a cdl due too the air brakes? ( The lady at the dmv said no cdl was need due too using it as a rv and not transporting people.), and is all the light ok to have? Any help with answers would be great..

Most states want the stop sign removed, the school bus yellow paint covered and the upper warning flashers disabled or removed. Some states want to actually inspect your conversion before they'll change the title to RV and some (like Michigan) just have you sign an affidavit stating that it's been done. Best to check what your state wants then go from there.
