Driver Seat

Has anyone changed out the driver seat but kept the Bostrum base that the original bus seat sits on? I find the Bostrum base is narrower than most
RV or Van seats. How did you get the seat to work on the Bostrum Base? Is there a way to do it? As I like the air ride.

you put a new top plate on , weld it or bolt it, then drill out mounting holes of the new seat.

I just replaced the whole seat, base and all with an air ride out of a 2007 INTERNATIONAL PROSTAR.

I have a 1991 Ward. I upgraded to four cinder blocks and a piece of plywood. It's made a world of difference!

I'm using a six-way power seat out of a Hyundai Santa Fe. I put it on a swiveling base -- the kind that was popular when all the cool kids drove a Chevy van with shag interior. To mate the two, I fabricated an adapter out of steel plate and 1" square tubing.

One tip: Shim the seat and/or base so it leans a little to the left -- to compensate for the road leaning to the right (road crown -- so rain water runs off). Your spine will thank you.

Whoa, you just blew my mind! That's a great idea. I never would have thought of it...
