Electrical Converter Panel Installation

I need help with electrical...... I have installed a converter from an old slide in camper... I want to be sure it is charging my on board battery.

Easy solution...put a voltmeter on the battery terminals with it disconnected and then again with it connected. You should see a rise in voltage. I would be more concerned that it isn't overcharging, but that's a whole different box of worms.

Converter

The difference between high dollar converters and old units is the voltage regulation. New units can be allowed to be connected for very long periods with no monitoring. Old units will make great amps and volts but, requardless of battery condition or state of charge, the voltage just keeps charging. The old converters can easily be controlled using a time clock. My converter is about 20 years old and works great. One very important tool for electrical work is having and using a digital multimeter. Frankj
