Re: Electrical Woes

the sequence of the marker and turn signals sounds right, look for a dirty/corroded connection at the harness plugs/terminals,at the lights themselfs and also where the front end harness connects with the main harness, probably at the firewall. also look real close at all of the grounds, the lights probably ground thru the light fixtures to the body unless it's a fiberglass front end. check the ground straps from the body to frame, engine and battery.

Re: Electrical Woes

The way your lights are set up is very very common. In fact, I believe I mentioned it in a thread about "what skills are helpful" and it is accomlished through backfeeding and grounding one buld thruogh another. Personally, I think it's kind of cool. Problems with that system tend to revolve around bad grounds. With the circuit on (current must be flowing) put your meter on the voltage setting and put one lead on the ground side of the socket and the other directly to the battery ground. This creates a parallel ground circuit. If you experience any sizeable voltage reading you have a ground problem. The same can be done on the feed side by moving the battery side lead to the positive terminal. Let us know the results and we'll go from there.

Re: Electrical Woes

It sounds like a faulty ground to me too... remove that ground wire from where it attaches to the metal, and use a wire brush or a file or something and clean both the wire contact, and the metal place where it attaches too...get the metal so it shines nicely. If the fixture has no ground wire, then likely there is some kind of metal to metal contact usually with a screw that makes that ground connection...remove and clean that too...

Re: Electrical Woes

you can strip a p[ece of stranded wire and put the bare end between the socket and side of the bulb and then run it directly to ground for a temporary fix/check of the circuit

Re: Electrical Woes

Definately a bad ground. Check all connections, bulb sockets, chassis ground, connectors for loose or corroded wires.
