Feedback on building the rear door on a toy hauler.

I would like some feedback about building the rear door for a toy hauler. I don't want to make something complicated like Elliot's. That's too much for me. Do you think barn style doors like on the back of a semi trailer would work. I would like the opening large enough to fit a car. Also, has anyone used e-track in their bus. How well did it work?

I thought about doing the barn door thing.....but I think a much better solution is to cut out the rear section of the bus and make a ramp door with some heavy duty hinges.

That is like Elliot's. That would be the best way, but I think the rear platform would be in the way. It would also be way to much work for me to do. Maybe Elliot will consider doing a statewide rampdoor tour before he goes on his nationwide roof raising tour? I am looking for ideas that might be much more simple (less time and money). I couldn't find a picture of the ramp on Millicent, but I have seen ramps on other buses here.

It's nowhere near finished, but you should get the idea.

It's monstrously heavy, so I'm fooling around with some big garage door springs.
(Gosh, is my yard really that messy?!)

Underneath all the rudeness and bluster and bragging and dirty jokes, I’m
actually a nice guy, so I’ll give you a chance to change your mind.

I used to have all my bicycles on the front porch, but the City sent me a letter about it.
So now the junkers are there in the yard, the so-sos are in the sheds and ten or 12
good ones are in the living room.

And the blueprints for the barn are at City Hall for the building permit, yes.

Barn doors

Here is my set up its not the biggest opening but will fit my 05 king quad through the doors. Basicly we cut out the right rear side of where the door was to be then welded on a large piano hinge then cut the rest out and bent up some sheet metal to fill the gaps on the door and body side.

That's slick , I likes. If were looking for something to carry a couple of motorbikes or a fleet of mountain bikes, that'd be the route I would use.

I have a rear ramp door on my 'toy hauler' bus. Here are some photos:

Looks like I still need a 'finished' photo from the back of the bus. I'll have to do that when I take more photos of my other progress this spring. With the cable and spring setup our 10 year old can lift the door.
