Flat screens 12 volt

Does anyone on here know about transformers for flat screens. i heard they could be changed or the TV's were already 12 volt. I have a LED flat screen I'd like to use and if I don't have to run it through the a 110 system that would be great. I'm trying to get every thing I can on 12 volt.

Also when I was at lowes today that in house electric brand they have that comes out of Mexico. The LED lights that they sell for under counter etc. The transformer says they are 120 volt to 12 volt.

Jeff,

I have done two stereos in this bus to 12v. I just remove the transformer and the rectifier and connect directly to the first power supply capacitor because the plus and negative are often marked.

Good luck!

alot of electronics step the 110 down to 24 VAC and some only 1/2 wave it to be 12 Volts "pseudo DC".. seems like a viable thing to make a change inside a device... of course any spikes on your 12 violt system may damage a cheapie device.. your better devices have decent power supplies that can take 10-18 volts no issues...
