The collapsible bag idea is great in theory, but like everyone else, I thinks it's application would be flawed. Flooding your skoolie after a hard stop would not only be aggravating to you, but heartbreaking to the rest of us!!!

This is the one I bought from this seller. It is going under the bed in the rear, I too have under carriage compartments. He has a ton of different sizes. And the guy is pretty reasonable too. I had my uncle pick it up from him so I didn't pay shipping. Next time I go to Indiana, Ill just load it up, and bring it home!!

Being that you're in Chicago, if you go out to the South Bend area, there are a ton of rv surplus places you can pick up things for your skoolie for dirt cheap!

I'd want to spread that weight ACROSS the bus, not just one corner.

100 gallons = about 850 pounds. A fair amount of moving weight and one more reason for lots of baffling.

Ya that is the plan if it will fit. Will just depend on the connections and the bed box area that I am building around it if there will be room. Will definitely be a tight fit.

I can always adjust the passenger side airbag to compensate for the weight correct? Its only like 200lbs more than the wheel chair lift, that shouldn't be to much of a problem I would think...

You're not so much compensating for the 200 lb weight differential. It WILL offset the balance of the bus. Center the tank side-to-side.

Are you SURE you need 100 gal? Try about 50, as recommended by a local RV dealer. Remember, you WILL have a grey water tank of equal capacity and, if you chose, a black water tank, too!

The 100 gal tank was the one I got. But the seller had a ton of different sizes. I want the larger reserve for AHSHIT moments. Like when I'm working in Louisiana, Florida, or another state that can be affected by large storms. In Nuclear power we don't get to go home when they hit, and sometimes it's hard to find fresh water when your power is off for 3 weeks like it was in our hotel in NJ a couple of years back.

I plan to put the grey water tank on the other side under the bus. No black tank as going the composting route.

I do not think that the 100gal tank will be filled to capacity on the regular. But I would prefer to have it vs a smaller tank for when we boondock for extended periods of time.

Something else I had thought on my way in to work today, who actually travels with a tank full of water anyway? I mean, long distances you might need a little, but for maximized fuel economy, I'd rather leave as little as possible in it anyway.

Good point. Local area to localish sites, some might be useful. It's when you start getting further on in longer distances you'd probably want to have more onboard

Actually, I do. I fill when I'm sure it isn't going to freeze and keep full all summer. In a full size bus, I don't think that another 850 lbs is going to make all that much difference in fuel mileage.

You may be right. I was thinking g of when I pulled my travel trailer, I always emptied it to save fuel on my Tahoe. Big difference in a 5.7L 350 Chevy and a 7.2L 3126b Cat....

OK remember I am new and will make many dumb statements,.....with that said.

Aside from the sloshing (sorry don't know the fancy equation) what about lateral movement? Something tells me 100 gallons of swishing water moving about might cause some interesting issues with lateral movement.

If you plan to install it as I am, under the bed in the rear, some 1X2 fastened to the floor should keep it from sliding anywhere.
