Lightbulb Floor Plan Software?

What are you all using for floor planning? Any good recommendations?

Thanks!

I've found that paper and a pencil works best, I also have a drafting table out in the office for making a final floorplan.

If you really want to go the software route I'd look into Google Sketchup, it's free, pretty powerful and easy to learn. I'm familiar with SolidWorks and AutoDesk products but they're pricey and have a bit more of a learning curve and really no advantages for this purpose. I'm sure there's some architecture software out there worth looking at but nothing beats the price of free!

Welcome. Do you have a bus? Your profile doesn't give much info.

Sketchup can be really interesting for the floor plan and even to put your idea in 3D. The software is really user friendly, even for people with no CAD experience.

After that, if you want to go further, you can render your design and make it look like a real picture.

I personally work with AutoCAD for beginning ( the 2D part) then go in Sketchup Pro for the 3D. After, I render the 3D model in Kerkythea ( free rendering program).
