Florida Insurance

Hi,

My bus is on the way but found out today State Farm cannot insure it until it has been totally renovated. Any suggestions on an insurance company so I can get a tag?

Try a local Progressive agent.

Thanks for the replies. Did you say "bus" or tell the agent it was commercial (mine will be company owned)? Did they require photos? Appreciate the help while the bus is paid for and sitting in NC!

Same question here. I have progressive and the lady I spoke to said she has to go through another agency because of some BS. So she's having me send her pictures but is pretty much saying I have to send pictures of a completed project. Otherwise I'd have to register it as a commercial vehicle which is a whole different set of hoops to jump through....

I ended up calling Progressive and told the woman that it was for my business. Without seats the consider it a "box-truck" and never mentioned RV. Went through smoothy and cheaply. I really required insurance for a FL tag and storage facility. It was suggested to me by a friend to avoid bus and rv in the same conversation. Good Luck!

If its company owned you need to be very honest with them. Tell them its a bus for sure.
Progressive never asked for any photos.

Absolutely was, they said to note any changes and they could update the policy, knowing it was a school bus. Best, sjm

$371/year as a box truck. Kept deductibles and coverages to a minimum.
