Fuel tank capacity

Does anyone have an idea of fuel tank capacity on a full size bus? I am going to get a bottle of winter diesel fuel conditioner and I would like to fill the tank up. There is currently a little over 3/4 tank, so I hope that it doesn't take too much $$.

Re: Fuel tank capacity

I'm sure there are various sizes for various buses... My Thomas has a 95 gallon tank...

Re: Fuel tank capacity

I hope mine is 60 gallons. Even at that size it will still cost around $35-$40 to fill up the rest of the way. I am going to drive the bus Monday for the first time after buying it in June. I will go to the station a couple miles away and blow the cobs out.

Re: Fuel tank capacity

I put $20 in the other day. It didn't fill it up from 3/4 tank, so I will try again in a week or so. Diesel is $2.75/gal here.

Re: Fuel tank capacity

I don't think you're going to find a tank smaller than 60 gallons. Most of the newer buses are larger to give them more range. My 60 gallon tank will only hold 30 or so. There must be a trap door baffle or something hung up in it. I just haven't gotten around to investigating further because honestly...after 200-some miles I'm ready to take a stretch break anyway.

Re: Fuel tank capacity

Finally filled my tank all the way this morning. I put in $20 twice an $18.00 today, so it took about 21 gallons total from 3/4 tank. I have only started the bus once a week and let it run for 5 minutes or so. I drove it to the gas station 3 times. So I think it must be around a 75 gallon tank.
