Re: Good Sam

Good Sam is one of the few that will haul large vehicles like class A RVs, buses and what not. You also get a discount with GMAC if you have Good Sam. I've never used them but sure plan on it.

Check your Escapee's magazine, they usually list similar companies that will haul big vehicles.

Re: Good Sam

I know the "Coach" buses like Coach-net. They know how to tow a big coach. And you don't get the tons of junk mail the Good Sam gives you (took 5 years to stop all the GS junk mail). That's a biggie when you pay to have your mail forwarded to you by the ounce! I think the prices are about the same too. I could be wrong.

Please explain how you got that deal! Did you sign up online, or call?

Sounds like membership dues to me, not insurance.

Re: Good Sam

No no no... that's my membership which don't think that gives me the lovely roadside, just basic services. Haven't bought ERS yet since not sure which one to get. Might do that regular ERS since I don't have other vehicles and I'm the only driver.

Re: Good Sam

Yeah I'm finding that a lot with road service and insurance companies. 'Blah blah if it isn't professionally converted blah blah you suck blah blah' Got annoyed and asked last lady "WELL! Where the hell do I get licensed as a pro bus converter?!" grrr

Re: Good Sam

Hey Guys ~ I've been following this thread for a few days now and checked out G.S. website for ERS.

http://www.goodsamers.com/index.cfm

I've yet to see anything mention on their website about converted school buses. Maybe I've simply overlooked it some where too. Does anyone have the link indicating such? I can certainly pick up the phone and give the digits a dial, but I like to see things in writing too.

Thanks
Scratchy

Re: Good Sam

Scratchy-
They don't specify anywhere, in fact, their info would suggest that they DON'T cover converted buses, but they do.
I know at least 3 people with buses and g.s. coverage. I guess g.s. sounds like the best deal going, though like all insurance rackets- read the fine print. They say their tows are unlimited distance, but only to the nearest R.V. repair center. Still a good deal should you need a tow. Tow's can be VERY expensive. A SIMPLE tow could easily cost more than 5 years worth of g.s. coverage.

Re: Good Sam

They're owned by GMAC or GMAC is owned by them, I forget which. So yeah, they do converted school buses.
