Seems for the most part that every over the road bus make I looked at before I settles on a skoolie had some "issues" that need to be addressed. All I can say is find out who the manufacturer is and then hit the bus conversion sites to find out what folks are having to work on in the way of repairs and upgrades on those units.

Newbie chimin in here, I spent the last 25 years in the heavy duty towing and recovery biz, Greyhound being one of our customers, chances are, thats going to be an MCI, 99% of GH busses, are MCI's even now. The MCI's are hard to find cheap, even if they have issues, they are pricey, My original plan was to go with one, but they were cost prohibitive to me.. go drive it, maybe have a good diesel Mech look it over for ya,, take an oil sample in for analysis, if it checks out, snag it....
On another note, the majority of mci's I ever towed were for blown turbos, and some tranny issues..

The board is loaded with coach people, and more than a few MCI nuts..

Sounds too good to be true. I love this board but for an MCI question I would ask about it on the busnut board. Watch out for rust buckets. Another thing with these buses is they usually have near 1 million miles on them. Lots of little parts wear out that can nickel and dime you to death.

nice looking bus. But all that storage, think of all that extra spring cleaning you'll have to do .

with the bus parked, i've seen people put beds and sleep in the underbelly compartments.

That's a nice bus. The bus is an MCI 8, with probably an 8v71 or a 6V92 DD (most likely an 8V71), connected to a 4 speed manual.

I would suggest that he'd have it looked at by a competent mechanic before buying, these buses are very expensive to repair.
