Trans bypass

To be honest, I have no idea. I googled it and got a bunch of useless trans info. There are a lot of things I still don't know what they do. I cant even find the headlight switch!! There is a switch missing, maybe that's it. There is a button by the Emergency Air gauge, I would like to know what that does... I cant get any lights on the outside to work other that Brake lights and turn signals. I would love to test the flashing school lights, but they had been painted over so I will not be surprised if they don't work..

The dash has been washed since these pics were taken lol

Crowns came with a neutral safety switch on both automatic and manual transmissions. It doesn't allow the starter to engage if the transmission is not in neutral.

Sometimes, especially as things get old and worn the safety switch would at times prevent the starter engaging even if the transmission was in neutral. The bypass switch allows power to go to the starter even if the transmission were still in gear and not in neutral. It was especially helpful if the bus was parked on uneven ground.

Hey! We have such similar buses I thought I'd check out your thread. How's it coming? Any updates?
