home fridge water pan question

So those that have installed home type fridges.
Do you add a drip pan under neath with a drain outside to recover any sloshed water from the "stock" pan or am I over thinking this?
My thoughts are to add a shallow pan under fridge and let "overflow" drip under bus instead of onto the floor...I would hate for the water to not evaporate quick enuf and make a mess

Whatcha think?

I'd think that if it's a good idea in the house it would also be a good idea in the bus.

Water is the enemy. Handle it on your terms or it will handle you on it's terms.

Re: home fridge water pan question

The undercounter fridge doesn't have a drip pan but the upright freezer does. All we did was thread the tube thru a hole in the floor to outside and remove the drip pan. When we seal up the space under the freezer (water bay) we will extend the hose (probably by adding a piece of piping to thread the tube into) that will discharge any water from defrosting the freezer under the bus. I would not risk keeping the drip pan in actual use. They are easy to bypass as the tubing usually either lays in the pan or is tied to the frame in a manner that allows the tube to discharge into the drip pan.

The only time a drip pan is used is when the unit defrosts OR you spill a soda or similar in the appliance. You may want to screen the bottom of the discharge pipe to keep bugs from climbing into it. a bit of fiberglass window screening should be enough to keep out most bugs,
