Would the interlock cause the trans to do nothing? No indication light or anything or the push button

sounds like no power to the chassis solenoid.. you say doors and hatches are closed.. but if you turn the key on (air alarm ringing).. do you get any additional buzzers when you open or close an exit door? and are you sure its the air alarm and not an inter lock alarm buzzing? is the cluster alive? be sure the roof hatches are pulled down fully tight..
look for any fuse panel you can find.. its possible they blew a fuse wshen they pulled out their video cameras or such... real common...

After spending all day ruling out interlock, I pulled out my new batteries and gave them back the title
I'll stay in town tonight and see if I can get my money back or if they will have the guys that chopped the camera system out come back and fix it. Short of that I'll return my batteries and get my bank to give my money back, i bought it on my company account and they could probably do a charge back, the ad said runs with a boost, it does not

I checked it out I can get the interlock alarm to come over opening doors and go off closing them now, no fuses I saw were bad, there is some badly disconnected wires but mostly it looks like low voltage video stuff, ultra thin wires

Can you put power to the start seliniod? with a jumper wire. No not jumper cables to the starter, just to the selenoid. And see if it cranks, and starts?

I'm thinking its a solenoid stuck.
Do you hear a distinct click when you turn the key?

Sometimes its best to know when to walk away.
Besides, you wanted a Cummins and got a Cat that won't even start!

I tried, it does crank but won't start. I believe all other motor functions are shut down as well, I get no unburned fuel smell like I'd get cranking that long with fuel pumping. So my guess is I'm not getting fuel as a result of no power I have power to lights and alarms and as far as the starter selenoid. But nothing at the ecm or the trans shifter in the dash.
I'm lost

There should be two big solenoids in the electrical panel. See if one isn't working. Its easy to check.

Thank! The mechanic tested them said we had power there. What's stumping everyone is that I get no light on the shifter so I have no idea what gear I'm in and no read at the ecm

I like this bus, alot. I love the price.
That said I'm talking to the school district in the morning, if they will give me some money back I'll pay the mechanic to fix it or if they will have their mechanic fix it I'd love to take it home. I'm 1000 miles from home with limited tools so I'm short options.
They advertised it as runs. It does not. So if they will work with me on either the price or the "runs" it's gonna be mine, if not it's a battle for my money back

It shouldn't really be much of a battle to get your money back.
School Districts have no real concerns about this. They play fair for the most part, and if the bus doesn't match the description they will refund and stick it in the next auction as a "non-runner".

Oh also said it was a Cummins it's a cat
Said 160k it's 250k
Neither of those is a deal breaker for me, I've had nothing but great experience with cats in big trucks and it looks great oils is nice trans fluid is nice even sitting for two years.
I'd still change them just because
Idk if they will relist it if I'm offering to still take it for less or at the same price if their mechanics make it run, hope not I really hope they will get her going

How ever this works out, I'm really thankful for you guys, your support and advice.
Even if it's not the solution, it's another thing off the list of possible problems.
Thank you

No matter what the description does or doesn't say. The fine print "highly recommends physical inspection of the item as it is being sold AS IS. Fortunately for me the bus was at the school yard and not an auction lot where I doubt you get cut much slack. They could have told me to pound sand and get my bus off their lot. But instead I was refunded the full sale price, auction fee, and bidders fee.
