How does one remove out/out double doors?

I'd like to take the two front passenger doors off the bus to clean and repaint them, but not sure how to get them off of their pivot points. Anyone have any pointers to how to remove a typical door?

I'll be doing mine soon if you don't have it figured out by then. And if you get to it first, give me a holler.

Look in the access door inside above the doors, there are a couple of socket head cap screws that you need to remove, you will also see that there are bearings on both sides theyre tricky to get out but once you remove them you can lift the doors off.

Thanks I'll check it out [strikeout]in the morning by the light of day[/strikeout] right now...

Hmm so no bolts, socket head screws, or anything else at the top on the inside.

But it does have a pair of bolts at the top and bottom of the door frame, just where a pivot pin would go down into (or up into) the frame. Loosening them surely must do something interesting, such as allow the pivot rods to be pulled out from top and bottom.

TOMORROW I'll try that out...

on my amtran the pins were welded in to the doorway and I had to cut them to get the doors out. I replaced mine with a glass security door though so I wasn't planning on reusing them anyway...

Good stuff to know... I'm planning of removing mine fairly soon. Maybe a good excuse to bust out my new-ish oxyacetylene torch.

I think what you cut out were the door pivot bearings. They are welded to the frame on my Girardin and I'm thinking I need a nuclear device to get them out. What did you use to cut them out and how hard was it?

On my 98 amtran shorty I was able to get them out without too much fuss. I can't remember what I did but I didn't have to cut anything.
