Re: How much did you pay ?

It must be the price of scrap steel. 3 RE busses up here in Washington recently went for over 3 thousand on the State Ebay site. If I remember, last year it was less than 2 (more like 1500).

Re: How much did you pay ?

I paid $2100 for my 1989 Thomas Saf-T-Liner with the rear mounted 3208 Caterillar engine. It runs great, bought it sight unseen via publicsurplus.com, and have spent the last 2.5 years doing the conversion (working on it only on Sundays). It's now 95% complete and I'm currently living aboard it in a Mobile Home Park...

I paid $3500, about 4 years ago, for my Crown. No complaints, engine was rebuilt, in 2004, and the bus was well taken care of. Besides, I like my heavy duty beer wagon.

Yeah I had that problem up here too. When I was looking for a bus 4 years ago it seems like everywhere I looked Mexicans were snatching them up and driving them back to Mexico by the.. uh.. bus load. I haven't been bus shopping since, but I bet they're looking closer to the border now that fuel costs so much.

Re: How much did you pay ?

'92 BlueBird TC 2000FE 2300 with a Full tank of Diesel
Had 340 000 kms, Head and Turbo were rebuilt at 290 000
Along with a new exhaust Pipe and muffler.
Our Repairs included
- 2 new front Rubbers $650 installed
- Needed a new transmission cooler box (Built our own new one around the old radiator, they wanted $600 for a new one, don't think so)
- New shutter sensor $90 I thinks
- New Parking Brake $100 - during that repair we noticed we had a broken front passenger leaf spring. We figure it had something to do with all the shackles in the corner not taking grease.
- Two new top leaf springs, 2 new U bolts, 3 Bushings, 2 weekends, a jack, lots of boards and one gas axe (torch) - priceless........... ya right .. $400 for parts, $ 50,000 for labour ( I have a HIGH hourly rate)
Other than that, a real Gem.

Re: How much did you pay ?

We paid 3k for our bus and it came with 2- 72 gallon fuel tanks full of diesel. Didn't cost a dime to drive home and I'm not sure if we've actually run all the original diesel out yet. Soon, baby, soon.

Re: How much did you pay ?

TWO 72 gallon tanks WOAH wouldn't want the bill to fill that one on empty. Ours only has 1 60 gallon tank. whew.

1997 Ford E-350 7.3L Powerstroke with automatic tranny. $1300 on craiglist guy spelled school scole. He delivered it from 60 miles away to my house for free. Had all service records. was NYS inspected. Had poor acceleration. Was stuck wastegate. Runs great. only a little rust. clean inside. Happy with it so far. Only had it about a month.
