How much is that doggy in the window?

How much did each of you pay for your bus when it was new? How many miles did it have on it? How old was the bus when you bought it?

my bus cost me $775.00 from the local bus garage, had about 250k miles on it. It is a 1991, i purchased it in fall 2002, making the bus 11 years old. As a side note...the school district didn't run buses for an entire year in the late 90's (money issue) so my bus was really only used for 10 years

she runs like a top, mechanically i have done nothing to the bus except change fluids and filters. I also had to find tires as the originalls were quite worn out.

$1000 1972 International Ward with 60,000 miles.

So it was 30 years old when I got it. My bus was only owned by the school district for three years before falling into private hands.

I paid $800 for my bus - 1990, 134,000 runs great, diesel, 5 speed

It has sound panels in the celing (Millions of little holes in the celing) it really keeps the noise down.

I paid $7000.00 for our Bus 1991 GMC ( too wet to run outside and check the odometer )....but its in really fantastic shape running gear and engine wise ...better be for that price.

Plus it's triple undercoated ( rust protection )

I have a 1979 International S1800 chassis with a 65-passenger Blue Bird body. The engine is a DT466 turbo diesel with just over 200,000 miles and the transmission is a 4-speed Allison MT645; right now the enigne is set for 180hp but it can be reset up to 230hp. The tires are fairly new 22.5" radials front and rear. The bus came from Colorado where the climate is pretty dry and no salt is used on the roads so I don't have a rust problem. I paid $2100 for the bus.

$1000 1988 Chevy Blue Bird, 77 passenger, 206k (about 140k on the engine), 8.2L turbo diesel, one front tire is worn the rest are in great shape. A little rustier than I'd like but is a Minnesota bus so can't expect much.
