I am getting desperate

Ok, I am about 1/3 of the way through my build and I am losing my perfect build location because people are jerks.

Can anyone help me find a place where I can live on my bus and continue the build in peace?

I am currently in Southern California and would like to stay close to this area.

I have run myself ragged trying to find a suitable location.

I would prefer a home on some acreage with a power hookup and a place for me to get my internet service (I cyber commute to work and bring my internet with me as long as Spectrum cable is available in the area).

I have almost exhausted all of my resources in trying to find something and I am currently looking at having to blacktop boondock at Target's and Walmart's, just so I have a place to sleep.

Things are quickly spiraling out of control for me.

PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN!!!

If things are spiraling out of control, find a way to unspiral them. Losing your build site is not the end of the world, and you don't have to necessarily rush into something else new.

If you find something temporary that has a whole lot of rules on building your bus, that's fine - switch from the painting and engine work and welding a submarine to the roof and work on something that is unobtrusive until you find something permanent. Quietly working on electrical on the interior for instance, shouldn't cause any problems anywhere you are otherwise allowed to be.

Good luck.

Yeah, especially if you park at Lowes.

Hey Mike,

Sorry to hear about your troubles. OC is a tough area to find Skoolie friendly folks.

How close to OC do you have to be? Have you expanded your search out to Riverside & Ontario? There are more "rural" areas that may be a bit more tolerant.

Good luck to you!

I spent two days in Yucca Valley this week and while it definitely seems more promising than here, I still couldn't find anyone willing to let me rent space.

I may have to get a loan and buy my own piece of land out there.

I could potentially get 4 or 5 acres for under $10,000.

But I don't have $10,000 right now and I am currently under-employed.

That is probably going to be the route that I will have to take, though.

Mike,

Are you are to get your work done with cellular Internet or is the cable Internet a requirement?

Oh, god no, I was on the other side of Joshua Tree from the Salton Sea.

A place called Wonderland Valley.

Any type of internet will do fine for my work, mostly emailing things.

My gaming on the other hand would suffer without high speed.

But gaming is optional at this point.

I already have an account with Spectrum and would not want to cancel it, that was why I mentioned the cable hookup.

Check local(off-line) industrial sites that might rent you a corner "out back"
